We have a fairly informal meeting planned this time. I will run a short presentation on where to find SQL Server 2005 resources in the run-up to the November 7th launch date.
David Gardner will also be presenting on securing SQL Server 2000 using IPSec policies. David has deployed such a solution successfully in the workplace and has some unique perspectives to offer on the processes and potential pitfalls.
I also want to do some group house-keeping, identify a solid core group who I can fall back on if I get too busy to arrange speakers and arrange a monthly committee meeting to organize events, etc.
As usual, please sign up via the front page of the SQL Server user group website (http://www.sqlserver.com.au/) to ensure that we have correct numbers for catering purposes.
