Using XML To Pass Parameters and Send Multiple Rows At Once Into A Stored Procedure
Author: Jeff Wharton Date Posted: 20/04/2006 1:45:05 PM
This months presentation follows on from Steve's presentation last month on "The marriage of XML and relational data in SQL Server 2005" (http://www.sqlserver.org.au/resources/ViewResource.aspx?resourceId=55).

This month we will discuss how using ADO.NET Datasets, XML and the XML Data Type as a means of passing records and parameters to SQL Server can simplifying stored procedure creation and management and enable you to process multiple rows with one call to the server. I will provide you with a real world example of how we have implemented this method at ASIS and what were some of the annoyances we had to overcome to make it all work properly.
