Introduction to Warehouse Loading using SQL Server 2005 ETL technology

More and more people are storing their company data in data warehouses. In this presentation Allan will show you how to load your fact and dimension tables so that the information is clean, presentable and the architecture is scalable. We'll start by looking at what a warehouse is before jumping right in to loading. Allan will also show you a number of techniques including tips on performance and doing fuzzy matching.

Allan Mitchell is a UK based consultant who focuses on BI solutions with his company Konesans which he founded with fellow SQL Server MVP Darren Green. He has helped to deliver a large number of projects to a broad group of industries with a primary area of focus being Microsoft's ETL products DTS and SSIS. Allan is a SQL Server MVP, an MCDBA and an MCSE. He speaks at industry conferences and has been published numerous times in SQL Server Professional Magazine. Allan is a co-author of the book SSIS Professional (Wiley Publishers, 2005, a Wrox title). Allan is also the co-author of the www.SQLDTS.com and www.SQLIS.com websites providing useful information for users.
