Although it is not yet released, SQL Server 2008 is now close to being feature complete. This presentation will walk through the Business Intelligence (BI) features in SQL Server 2008, having a look at all the bright and shiny new bits. We will be looking at the entire BI stack from Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services to see what they have to offer us. By the end of the presentation you should be in a position to decide for yourself if the BI features in SQL Server 2008 are something that your organisation should be considering.
Darren Gosbell is a Principal Consultant with James & Monroe, a consulting firm whose specialties include the areas of business intelligence, data warehousing and business performance management (BPM). He has in excess of nine years practical experience in building and implementing data warehousing and business intelligence solutions for some of Australia’s largest corporations.
In 2006 Darren received a Microsoft MVP award in SQL Server in recognition of his contribution to the community specially in the areas of Analysis Services and MDX. He lives in Melbourne with his wife and 2 children and enjoys throwing boomerangs when he can find a safe place in which to do so.
