SQL Server Social Christmas Edition is on! After a very successful pilot event back in May this year, and a great turnout for the Movember Edition, it's now time for more SQL Social festivities. And this time we have two sponsors - BizData and LobsterPot Solutions. So food and drink will be provided!
What is it?
SQL Server Social is a new event for the SQL Server Community. This month's event has been organised by Luke Hayler (Blog | @lukehayler) and Martin Cairney. You can read more about SQL Server Social on the new blog sqlserversocial.wordpress.com.
What is it about?
The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for Data professionals to network, share ideas and experiences, have a beer or two, and make some new friends. We will be keeping the format simple; arrive, meet new people, talk 'data'. We may have some hot topic suggestions that will be used to initiate discussions/debates, but the conversations are entirely up to you. You may want to talk about any issues that you may be facing (in your data-related life...), or indeed any solutions that you may have and want to share. The event is open not just to data professionals, but also to anyone looking to get a better understanding of data, databases & BI.
The forthcoming event is to be held on the 21st December 2011 from 5:30pm at The Sherlock Holmes Inn, 415 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC. As it is the festive season, we will be handing out a prize for the best festive outfit being worn; wear a Santa hat, bit of tinsel, Reindeer costume.... whatever floats your boat.
If you would like to attend the event, please head on over to http://sqlserversocial3.eventbrite.com and register. The registration will enable us to keep track of numbers and ensure we have the correct food and drink allocations on the night. All the details pertaining to the event are listed on eventbrite, but if you do have any questions about this event, including being a sponsor, please contact Luke (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, twitter: @lukehayler, LinkedIn: http://linkedIn.com/in/lukehayler) or Martin (email:email@example.com, LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/martincairney).
