Starting with Microsoft SQL Server 2012, you can install SQL Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core SP1 (Server Core). This represents important new functionality in terms of reliability, security and robustness. This new functionality should prove to be important for patching and in virtulisation scenarios.
In this session Victor Isakov (MCA, MCM, MCT, MVP) will discuss the benefits and limitations of running SQL Server 2012 on Windows Core. He will then present and demonstrate how to install, configure and manage SQL Server 2012 in such a scenario.
