Dimensional modelling is a core component of any data warehousing or business intelligence implementation. Proper application of good dimensional modelling design principles will improve performance, useability and maintenance of a data warehousing solution. This session is tailored for people starting on their data warehousing/business intelligence journey who are interested in understanding the basics, as well as those with more experience interested in understanding best and worst practices.

About the speaker
John Simon has been involved in data warehousing and business intelligence since the mid-90s. John has worked on a variety of solutions on various platforms for a number of clients, ranging from small implementations to implementations with hundreds of billions of rows. John is currently a Solution Lead on the EDW at Telstra.
