Why is this SQLDBA Learning Powershell?
Author: Tara S. Jana Date Posted: 22/10/2012 12:41:53 AM
In this session, I will describe several examples of using PowerShell that I would hope a SQL Engineer/ DBA would find very useful. The powershell scripts will demonstrate how to run SQL queries, WMI queries or SMO code on one or more machines, and will help the audience to better manage multiple database servers. The session will also cover different tools and technologies and will help the SQLDBA's understand how to integrate them all to powershell to generate visual and flashy data.

Objectives:

Demonstrate how to manage multiple SQL servers using powershell.

Demonstrate how to automate Repetitive and Miscellaneous Tasks (SQL/OS/WMI/SMO)

Illustrate how to automatically generate MSCharts, excel sheets/charts and populate them with the data generated by powershell scripts.

Troubleshooting WMI and Powershell issues (Level 300)
