Not it wasn't an April Fool's joke, SQL Server 2014 was released on the 1st April 2014. So what features are included? What is the business value of upgrading to the latest version of SQL Server?
In this session Victor Isakov (MCA, MCM, MCT, MVP) will cover the more important and interesting features of this release, including Availability Group Enhancements, Buffer Pool Extensions, Cloud Backups, Clustered Columnstore Indexes, In-Memory OLTP tables, Online Database Operations, Windows Azure integration.
He will also talk about complementary technologies such as HD Insight, Power BI, Parallel Data Warehouse and offer some insight into the what industry trends and what Microsoft is focusing on.
Finally Victor will cover the different upgrade strategies supported, offer some practical tips and discuss potential opportunities that you should take advantage of.

Victor Isakov is a Database Architect and Microsoft Certified Trainer who provides consulting and training services to various organizations in the public, private and NGO sectors globally, and been involved in different capacities at various international events and conferences. He has authored a number of books on SQL Server and worked closely with Microsoft to develop the new generation of SQL Server Certification and Microsoft Official Curriculum for both instructor led training (ILT) and e-Learning. He is one of the first IT professionals to get the Microsoft Certified Master and Microsoft Certified Architect certifications globally.
