[DBD] Implementing Columnstore Indexes
Author: Victor Isakov Date Posted: 3/2/2015 12:15:22 PM
Columnstore indexes represent an revolutionary new index type that was released initially with SQL Server 2012. With the release of SQL Server 2014 Microsoft reduced the blockers for columnstore's broad acceptance. In this session Victor Isakov (MCA, MCM, MCSM, MCT, MVP) will go through the architecture and pros/cons of columnstore indexes. Victor will also cover the use cases of where columnstore indexes can be used, and give some examples of where they have been implemented and what performance gains were achieved. Perhaps Victor's most important take away will be that columnstore indexes can be used in workloads other than traditional DW/DSS queries. Are you interested in improving performance by a few hundred-fold?
