SQL Server provides many methods for accessing metadata, including system stored procedures, property functions and Information Schema Views and the new Dynamic Management Views in SQL Server 2005. In this presentation, we will look at when each of these tools is most useful, and examine situations in which you need information that none of these tools can provide. We will compare the available methods for metadata access and manipulation in SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
