Migrating from SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services to SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services.
Author: Greg Linwood Date Posted: 9/10/2005 9:25:39 PM
One of the prime initiatives for Project REAL is providing quality information related to the migration from Analysis Services 2000 to Analysis Services 2005. This session first identifies the role of Project REAL as it relates to migration and specifically how that affects the normal Microsoft Analysis Services customer. Then, migration details are addressed. We outline the new features of Analysis Services that affect migration, and identify the built-in features that Microsoft has provided to assist with the migration process. Finally, we identify known issues related to migration and how to address them. This section is detailed in nature and should provide initial materials for you to successfully migrate your Analysis Services 2000 cubes to Analysis Services 2005.
