SQL Server 2005 has provided a much more secure deployment out of the box, however previous versions are not as secure. The security of the SQL Server deployment can have an impact over the entire enterprise at both the infrastructure and data levels.

In this presentation, Martin Cairney will provide an insight into many of the real world examples of security weaknesses which can be easily plugged to secure your environments.

Martin Cairney is a senior DBA with EDS Australia. In his role he has provided DBA support across a diverse range of Customers and versions of SQL Server. Martin has over 8 years experience with SQL Server, from version 6.5 through to 2005.
