Analysis Services 101 - Mark Morton

An introduction to the underlying concepts behind Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence on a Microsoft platform. Starting from the base concepts and key differences between OLTP and OLAP data environments we will introduce the SQL Server Analysis Services product and discuss and demonstrate the constituent pieces such as Data Source Views, Dimensions and Cubes with a smattering of MDX thrown in for good measure(s).

About the Presenter
Mark Morton is a familiar face to the SQL Server community in Brisbane being a regular speaker at Microsoft events such as TechEd and the SQL Server User Groups. He has recently left the cloistered world of a Microsoft Certified Trainer to return to the real world (urg!!!) of B.I. consulting with Zap Technology in Brisbane.
