The 4 main pillars driving the development of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 were:-

- Dynamic Development (ie: Distributed &/or Mobile Apps, Improved integration with Development Best Practices, Incorporate .NET productivity enhancements, LINQ, .NET Sync Framework, ADO.NET Entity Framework, etc)
This month’s session will look at the large number of new features that make your Data Warehouse; easier to create, more scalable & cheaper to Run. David will show you how features like; page level compression & transparent database encryption really work & how they work together. We will look at new commands like: Merge and examine the performance improvements on features like partitioned tables & star join query optimisation.
