The Perth SQL Server User Group is meeting again this February and this time we're bringing a long waited (and much requested) topic.
Business Intelligence - yes, that's right. The topic that's evaded us here in Perth is now going to see the light.
The presentation this time around will also be slightly different than usual - in that we have two presenters, sharing the fun.
Aaron Griffith and Greg Davey from mhm (www.mhm.com.au) are going to show us the ins and outs of Business Intelligence and hopefully answer some of the questions that's been on everybody's lips for a long time. Both of our presenters has extensive experience with BI and are leading mhm's Perth offices.
The presentation will be split in two:
Data Warehouse design methodologies
- Designing a data warehouse dimensional model
- Designing an extract, transform and load (ETL) process for a Data warehouse.
Presenter: Greg Davey, Principal Consultant, mhm
Building a Data Warehouse utilising SQL Server Integration Services
- Transforming and integrating data
- Building type 1 and 2 slowly changing dimensions
- Loading FACT tables
Presenter: Aaron Griffith, Consultant, mhm
As usual we'll be meeting at Fujitsu's offices at Level 15, 191 St Georges Terrace (Corner of St Georges and Mill St).
As last time we'll have pizzas and soft drinks available so be sure to register for the event.
