SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) has been the prime ETL engine since its introduction in SQL Server 2005. At this session, Kevin will showcase several new features and improvements in SSIS 2008 such as; the new ADO.NET SSIS components, superior performance, the improved Lookup Transform, using VSTA to leverage full-fledged .NET coding capabilities, using Web Services as a data source to SSIS and improving data quality with data profiling.
Kevin will also present practical SSIS solutions such as; Centralized SSIS package configuration and logging, Referenced result sets, Streaming (high performance) sequence numbers and dynamic data source connections.
About the presenter:
Kevin Wong has been involved in SSIS projects since 2005, and database development and query tuning since 2001. He holds the MCITP and MCDBA certifications for SQL Server 2008. He is a senior SQL Server developer at Infomedia Ltd and works with T-SQL development and SSIS projects. He has been a presenter at SQL Code Camp Wagga-Wagga and the Sydney SQL Server User Group.
