Data Mining for Fun and Profit
Author: Peter Ward Date Posted: 4/15/2011 2:09:56 AM
SQL Server Data Mining offers a powerful set of tools that are easier to use than you might think. Our goal is it show how you can use Data Mining to quickly expose hidden patterns lurking in your data, patterns that will enable your organisation to be more effective and efficient. We’ll explore the architecture of SSAS Data Mining. We’ll show how to build the models, how they work, and how to assess their abilities and parameters. We’ll dive into the mining algorithms enough to remove the mystique surrounding them. All this and look, Ma, no code to write! We’ll also show how the Data Mining Add-Ins for Excel and Visio extend the built-in algorithms. By the end of the talk you will feel comfortable applying the Data Mining feature set to your own data.
