At the SQL PASS conference two weeks ago it was announced that the release name for project Crescent is now Power View. Power View works hand in hand with the new Business Intelligence Semantic Model (BISM) that Microsoft is developing.
In this session Shaun will show you some of what's involved in enabling the Power View environment, how to create a BISM data source in SQL Analysis Services 2012, and how to create a Power View report based on that same SSAS 2012 Tabular Model database.
This session will be mostly interactive with a minimum of slides and is based on the ctp3 of SQL Server 2012.
Please note that the date for this meeting is Melbourne Cup day so please only register if you plan to attend.
Shaun Baggett is currently the leader of the Canberra SQL Server User Group. When not organising speakers and pizza for the group meetings Shaun is fortunate enough to work for WARDY IT Solutions and gets to play with a lot of the newest SQL technology and help integrate it into customer sites all over Australia.
