Microsoft have the Big Data story covered in a number of ways, and this session will look at one of those – their Windows hosted Hadoop platform called HDInsight. It will be a practical session where we show how to use the platform to analyse unstructured data to perform a simple sentiment analysis. The journey will cover and use some of the array of tools available – Hadoop, C#, Pig & Hive – and send the output to the Microsoft BI Environment for analysis.
James believes that by using the flows of information that now surround us we can achieve a greater understanding of how we behave and use that understanding to improve our lives. His toolkit has mostly been the Microsoft BI platform, and he is best known for his ETL work on SSIS, but has more recently been working on the Big Data platforms. He blogs at www.bimonkey.com and tweets @BI_Monkey.”
