Whether you are implementing SQL Server on premise, or in the cloud I can virtually guarantee that your bottleneck will be storage. Storage improvements have not really kept up with the advancements in processor and memory capacities. When moving into the cloud it is more important than ever to optimised your database solution / storage configuration given that you have limited control over your cloud provider's storage subsystem.
For this session, Victor Isakov (MCA, MCM, MCT, MVP) will concentrate on all things "storage" for SQL Server. He will cover SQL Server's storage engine and how it accessed data before looking at how to optimize your storage solution for SQL Server. "No stone will be unturned" as he will examine the Windows operating system, the [tempdb] system database and of course your database solution.
Full of practical advise, tools and lessons learnt from optimizing customer solutions this session should allow you to tune your existing and further deployments of SQL Server, be they on premise or in the cloud.
Oh! And by the way, if you are a developer do not "not attend" as there will be plenty for you at you with this session as we will be covering indexes and how SQL Server works with them.
