Yukon DTS presentations Aug - Nov 04
PPT of the SQL 2005 DTS Talk given D. Lean thru Aug - Nov 04. The meeting is mostly demo so very few of these slides will be displayed. I trust the PPT will serve as a reminder of the main points covered & help those unable to make it.

Sydney - Feb 2005 - SQL 2000 Security - Victor Isakov
Hello again,

Thanks again for your patronage. Hopefully the session provided some insights into SQL Server's security architecture, attack vectors and what to defend / watch out for.

If anyone has any suggestions, information, feedback, etc I would appreciate it.

Otherwise: I might have a number of projects coming up this year requiring SQL, DTS, Reporting Services, IIS/Sharepoint/ASP/BIP/BSC, etc skills. So if you're interested in contract work, please contact me.

Regards,

Victor

Sydney - Oct 2004 - Stored Procedure Architecture & Performance - Victor Isakov
Hi everyone,

Hopefully we've shed some light on what happens in the background with SQL Server's Stored Procedures.

Please be aware that there are a lot more undocumented Procs in SQL, just execute a SELECT name FROM [master]..[sysobjects] WHERE type IN ('p','x') and compare the list to BOL ;o)

Kind Regards,

Victor

Sydney - Aug 2004 - SQL 2000 Best Practices - Victor Isakov
Hi,

Thanx you very much for you interest and feeback on the SQL Server 2000 Best Practices Session. Hopefully you found it of interest and relevance!

Otherwise I would recommend keeping an eye on the 64-Bit space and what AMD in particular will be doing with the Opteron (x64) and the HyperTransport Architecture!

If anyone has any question, please feel free to email me at mailto:sql@informare.com.au.

Kind Regards,

Victor

Sydney - Apr 2005 - SQL 2000 Optimiser, Execution Plans and Indexes Revisited - Victor Isakov
Hello everyone,

Thanks for what was a very good turnout (especially considering it was after the Anzac Day Public Holiday). The interest and participation certainly made it more of the one more “successful” sessions we've had.

Thank you in particular for your positive feedback via emails, that's much appreciated.

Feel free to email me with further questions, as always!

Don't forget the SQL Server Technical Mailing List! I've posted the latest "Session - 003" up in the news section, so have a read. I'm sure you'll find it most useful!

Kind Regards,

Victor
